Job Title: Director of Business Development

Location: Remote (US-based)

Compensation: Base salary of $85,000 to $110,000, plus an uncapped performance-based bonus structure.

Travel: Ability to travel domestically (up to 20%)

Job Summary: The role of the Director of Business Development is to lead business development, client engagement, and help support operational delivery across our portfolio of security and risk management services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and securing new opportunities, expanding existing accounts, and ensuring the seamless execution of services that meet and exceed client expectations.

The Director will work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement growth strategies, build trusted partnerships with clients, and serve as a key liaison between clients and ICMG’s operational teams. This is an ideal role for a high-performing professional who brings a consultative sales approach, deep industry insight, and a passion for delivering solutions in high-stakes environments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Client Growth

  • Drive revenue growth by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities across ICMG’s service lines, including risk management, executive protection, workplace violence prevention, intelligence, and investigative services.

  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads; manage the full sales lifecycle from prospecting through contract negotiation and closing.

  • Cultivate and expand relationships with key decision-makers, including risk management professionals, procurement leaders, HR professionals, and other senior leaders.

  • Lead the development of tailored proposals, RFP responses, and strategic sales presentations that align with client objectives and showcase ICMG’s capabilities.

  • Represent ICMG at industry events, client briefings, conferences, and networking forums to enhance visibility and uncover new partnership opportunities.

  • Collaborate closely with leadership and marketing to refine messaging, sales strategies, and market positioning.

Client Engagement & Strategic Account Management

  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for high-value and strategic accounts, ensuring consistent client satisfaction and proactive issue resolution.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance client value by aligning additional services with their evolving risk and operational needs.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing guidance on risk mitigation, threat management, and incident response.

Operations Management & Service Delivery

  • Support the planning and execution of field operations, ensuring timely, high-quality service delivery aligns with client expectations and contractual terms.

  • Partner with internal teams to manage staffing, logistics, and compliance for protective, investigative, and emergency response assignments.

  • Conduct quality assurance checks and after-action reviews to ensure continuous improvement in operational effectiveness.

  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and mentoring field personnel; provide oversight on mission-critical deployments as needed.

  • Respond quickly and effectively to urgent client requests, including rapid mobilization of resources for short-notice assignments.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant certifications (CPP, PSP, CTM) a plus.

 

Experience Required:

  • 5+ years' experience of generating new business, closing deals, and growing client accounts within a B2B service environment. Ability to identify client pain points and articulate tailored security and risk solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex client relationships across multiple stakeholders, build trust, and deliver high-touch service. Skilled at navigating sensitive issues with professionalism and discretion.

  • Familiarity with workforce scheduling, incident reporting, and managing contract deliverables in compliance with SOPs and regulatory standards.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to executive audiences and writing proposals, SOWs, or briefing documents.

  • Strong problem-solving ability with a strategic approach to planning, resource allocation, and issue resolution. Able to balance short-term tactical needs with long-term client and company objectives.

  • Comfortable working with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite, and operational software platforms relevant to security or field management.

  • High integrity, results-oriented, collaborative, and capable of maintaining confidentiality in sensitive environments. Must be comfortable working in dynamic, fast-paced settings where agility and judgment are key.
