Position:          Intern Architect
Reports to:      Cooperative Team Environment, but ultimately reports to Principals
Supervises:     Typically, projects are produced via cooperative team effort with the assigned Project Manager coordinating, leading & directing. 
Location:         AERC Main Office
Salary Grade: Commensurate with current Market & Abilities (Range:  $35,000 to $45,000) with Benefits
Status:             Regular, Full-time
Travel:             Only as required for specific projects.

Contribute to the coordination & production of architectural and/or graphic design projects in a multi-disciplined, multi-faceted team environment.
  • Produce Revit based drawings in support of Schematic Designs for projects in conjunction with senior designers and/or independently.
  • Design Development of projects also coordinate such models with Consultants and other team members.
  • Produce 3D Model based Construction Documents and coordinate with Specifications.
  • Produce Presentation materials, renderings, and other graphic design materials
  • Understand & be able to productively use:  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop (or comparable graphic arts software), Autodesk Revit.  Knowledge of additional 3D modeling / rendering software is also desired, but optional.
  • Understand Autodesk Autocad enough to coordinate & export/import files from Revit to & from consultants.
  • Understand how to navigate & effectively use the Internet.  Management of AERC’s web-site could be an optional task for this position.
  • Do whatever needs to be done, whenever it needs to be done with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Reliable mode of transportation to make job site visits. Employee will be required to have full coverage insurance. Coverage as established by the company.
  • Construction Drawings and Shop Drawings – Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Job Site Visits and Field Measuring – The person in this position needs to occasionally move about job sites and existing buildings. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to access roofs and equipment.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Bachelor of Architecture or Masters of Architecture degree from an Accredited, and reputable, School of Architecture
  • Previous experience in architecture or construction is preferred.
  • Evidence of creative design ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and follow in a team environment, prioritize work schedules and multi-task.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to resolve detail minutiae while also staying cognizant of the big picture.
