Contractors Incorporated, a Crane Renovation Group Company, is a specialty building services company that provides capital, renovation and restoration projects to the multi-family housing industry. The company provides all types of maintenance and repair, including painting, roofing, carpentry, siding, and fire restoration. The company’s major customers include REITs and other well established owners of multi-family housing developments. We are seeking a hands-on Accounts Payable Administrator, to be based in Memphis, Tennessee. Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required, and additional education/experience is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years accounts payable experience
  • Excellent math skills
  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting system or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system required, JD Edwards a plus
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to adhere to schedules and deadlines
  • Ability to deal with personnel and priorities to meet all deadlines associated with time-sensitive work
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, interacting with others in a professional manner
  • Work schedule flexibility, with advance notice, to accommodate needs of the business

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
  • Distribute email invoices to appropriate regional administrative teams for approval and vouchering
  • Maximize company savings by using supplier discounts
  • Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
  • Pay employees by verifying expense reports for approval and adherence to company policies
  • Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoices/expense reports and recording entries
  • Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions
  • Complete payments and control expenses by receiving, distributing, processing, and verifying vendor, subcontractor and supplier invoices
  • Create new supplier accounts in the financial system by verifying supporting documents
  • Review daily, weekly and monthly credit card charges and batch for admin team coding
  • Review and research outstanding check listing on a quarterly basis, voiding and reissuing as necessary
  • Assist in monthly close by reconciling control accounts, posting journal entries and other duties as needed
  • Assist with annual audit by providing requested information for external auditor
  • Review subcontractor insurance expiration and notify teams of non-payment
  • Process weekly electronic remittances for processed electronic payments
  • Respond to vendor inquiries for payment, researching as needed
  • Maintain vendor spend for major suppliers, tracking rebates earned
  • Other responsibilities as required
