SUMMARY
 
The IT Director operates under the direct supervision of the Senior Director of Mobilization and works closely with Home Office Department heads.  The IT Director must have a broad understanding of a variety of technical areas and have the ability to learn new things quickly. 
 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  1. Manages and maintains all technological needs at the NICS headquarters by doing the following:
  1. Installs and maintains local area network hardware and software, including servers, switches, wireless access points, firewall, terminals, wiring, and server room health.
  2. Configures and monitors internal DNS, DHCP IP leasing and conflicts, bandwidth usage and network clogging.
  3. Maintains up-to-date computers for each employee at the NICS headquarters based on a four-year upgrade schedule.  This includes research, network configuration, information transfer between machines, training on new operating system, reformatting and reallocating old machines, and proper recycling and waste management.  
  4. Maintains the corporate websites by troubleshooting bugs/errors, manage security and user roles, and ensure minimum downtime.  Coordinate with Marketing when designing new pages, modifying/updating existing content, and ensuring brand consistency across all sites. 
  5. Provides technical support and participates in employee training in Microsoft products, HR systems, GoToMeeting, etc. 
  6. Provides support for the Application and HR system including troubleshooting bugs/errors, user account management, and remote support for applicants.
  7. Researches and implements security and firewall strategies and virus protection. 
  8. Manages VPN and DMZ access and security.
  9. Monitors server backups and restores.
  10. Evaluates network hardware and software requirements and capabilities, in light of network traffic & home office mission, and makes recommendations.
  11. Communicates and coordinates network schedule, backups, and downtime to users.
  12. Manages corporate email system, Active Directory, SPAM protection, account creation/deletion, distribution and security groups, and special email rules. 
  13. Manages corporate antivirus strategy by ensuring we have must up to date virus definitions, monitoring proper licensing, monitoring client updates, and safely removing anything malicious on the network. 
  14. Maintains relevant teleconferencing solution and audio/video equipment for conference and training room usage. 
  15. Manages access control system including badge/account administration, door access schedule, and equipment maintenance.
  16. Manages security camera system including database stability, camera quality and functionality, and incident discovery and documentation. 
  17. Installs, upgrades, and configures network printing, print server management, printer user access and codes, and general maintenance.
  18. Establishes network users, user environments, directories, and security groups for internal network, file share system, and network permissions.
  19. Manages all software and licenses including upgrades, updates, patches, and acquisition of new software as needed.
  20. Orders software licenses for network schools with proper documentation and requisitions. 
  21. Manages telephone system by creating users and extensions, programming call tree architecture, voicemail configuration, and proper wiring to ports.
  22. Provides remote support as needed for school administrators, teachers, or applicants.
 
  1. Oversees the NICS headquarters IT strategies and goals by doing the following:
  1. Works with department heads in finding ways to use technology to enhance and enable them to more efficiently carry out their department’s mission.
  2. Coordinates IT strategy with Marketing, Recruiting, and Placement toward a unified mission.
  3. Attends and contributes to leadership meetings.
  4. Develops and maintains proper documentation and standard operating procedures
  5. Reviews and updates the IT Manual
  6. Stays abreast of industry trends and applicable technologies.
  7. Coordinates discussion and support between IT personnel throughout the organization. 
  8. Cultivates strong vendor relationships for IT projects and web development. 
  9. Pursues ongoing training opportunities. 
  10. Develops IT policies for the NICS headquarters.

QUALIFICATIONS
 
 
EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or technical procedures.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, home office staff, NICS/Oasis missionaries, and vendors.
 
 
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands.  The employee must be able to talk and hear.  The employee will need to be able to stand, walk, climb, balance, and stoop, kneel, and crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
